Community Partners
The Reason "Why"
Bonding Against Adversity has been serving the community for over 13 years and assisting more
than 20,000 Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs) to complete citizenship applications in the
North area of Houston. Based on recent studies completed by reliable sources, more than
70,000 LPRs who are eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship live within the zip codes we serve and
can become involved in civic activities. This project is designed to bring all generations together to
help us reach our goal of assisting these 70,000 LPRs to become U.S citizens and be civic
participants and leaders in their communities.
Citizenship Now! mobile unit targets hard-to-reach communities. Partner with us!
The mobile unit will bring information on citizenship resources and civic engagement events to areas such as North Houston, Liberty County, Montgomery County, and Katy.
Since 2010, BAA has been breaking down barriers to citizenship.
Estimates about 360,000 lawful permanent residents call the Houston region home and meet the criteria to become citizens.
Fewer than 10 percent complete the naturalization process every year.
Houston Endowment
